At centre, a man with long dark hair and an orange robe, a gold ceremonial necklace and a red tilak walks barefoot with hands folded, appearing to be a sannyasi; the appearance is consistent with the a person candidate and cues include long hair, saffron clothing and ornate gold necklace, so he is labelled a person. Around him, devotees in orange shawls and saffron dhotis walk alongside men in white dhotis and white shirts, one bald man in white holding a mala. An orange and gold canopy is partly visible at upper left.2008-08-02July 24 20122012-07-24December 20 20112011-12-20January 12 20072007-01-12July 13 20092009-07-13Photo of a temple procession outside a stone temple gateway with carved pillars and sculpted figures. At centre, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron cloth, a thick orange-and-gold flower garland, a gold necklace and gold bangles, and carries a white staff with a red tip. Around him, several men in white dhotis with gold borders, some with rudraksha malas, walk along; one shaved-headed man in front holds a white staff and another wears dark-rimmed glasses. A man in a grey shirt stands at the left edge. The central figure has distinctive long hair, ornate gold and saffron attire, and is walked with by attendants, so the appearance is a probable match for a person in a temple visit context.2011-12-08December 20 20112011-12-20Outdoor procession on a stone-paved temple path in Thiruvannamalai, with a temple gopuram and hill behind. Several saffron-robed monks walk in a group, most with shaved heads and gold-bead necklaces with pendants. The central monk has long dark hair, a white tilak on the forehead, a saffron cloth and a large white-and-yellow flower garland, smiling and holding his hands together in greeting. Men in white dhotis and shirts surround the group, and one older man in a white shirt in the foreground looks toward the camera.2010-12-29
