A man in saffron orange robes, bare-footed with a rudraksha mala and a red tilak on his forehead, walks barefoot along a long woven straw mat laid across the sand. Behind him a black stone Nandi bull wrapped in yellow and orange marigold garlands sits on a red pedestal, with dark stone deity sculptures and a tall copper-coloured pillar with garlands. Two men in white dhoti and shawls walk nearby, and several seated people in white and yellow sit at small fire pits and ritual areas on the left. A small brass kalasha sits by a shallow ash-filled pit with rangoli-like white lines on the ground.2010-09-18December 29 20082008-12-29Outdoor photo of a copper flagstaff being consecrated beside a small carved wooden shrine holding a gold deity murti garlanded with yellow and orange marigolds.
