A temple ritual scene with a large red flower garland hanging across the top. In the foreground, a bare-shouldered man with long dark hair cascading down his back and a short beard stands facing away from the camera, wearing a rust-red shawl over his shoulder. Beside him, a silver pillar and chains frame the view. Behind, several shirtless priests in white dhotis with yellow borders stand and move through the space. To the right, a bearded man with a black turban and an orange-saffron shawl stands among other figures in orange cloth. The setting appears to be a temple hall with pale walls.2018-05-24May 24 20182018-05-24A photograph inside a decorated tent with a pink and white canopy, hung with orange and multicoloured tassels and gold leaf garlands. A figure with long dreadlocked hair, wearing a rust-orange garment with gold border and a flower garland over the head, stands barefoot on a red carpet, back to the camera, facing a shrine-like structure at the far end where a deity murti sits under an ornate canopy. Several men in white dhotis with gold borders stand on either side; one at right wears a rudraksha mala and gold chain, and another at left holds a ceremonial item. Devotees in white and blue line the sides with hands folded in anjali. A silver-tree decoration and a tall silver pole frame the scene.2016-12-14Indoor photo of a temple or hall setting. In the foreground, a bare-backed sadhu with long matted dreadlocks tied up, wearing a red-orange shawl draped over one shoulder and a rudraksha mala around his neck. Beside him, a bare-chested man bends forward, and to the right a man in a white dhoti with an orange-bordered wrap stands in profile. On the left, a woman in a pale yellow sari with a red bindi and glasses holds a notebook and pen, and a name badge is visible on her clothing. Warm lamp light and blurred figures in orange appear in the background.2017-06-17May 24 20182018-05-24 +1 copiesCeremonial temple scene before an ornate gold throne-like backdrop draped with red and white flower garlands. A bearded man in a rust-red robe with a bare shoulder sits at right, a white vibhuti mark on his forehead and long hair swept back, his eyes closed in a serene expression. Two attendants stand at left in white dhotis with yellow borders, one with his hair in a tall topknot and bare torso marked with white paste, holding a folded white paper. A kneeling devotee with a shaved head and white cloth draped over his shoulder bends forward in front of the seated figure. The scene suggests a puja or darshan ritual, with the white paper being offered or handled during the ceremony.2018-05-24May 24 20182018-05-24 +1 copiesPhotograph of a ritual initiation at an indoor hall with a red curtain and a golden trident (trishul) behind. A bare-chested young man in a white dhoti with gold borders, rudraksha malas and a sacred thread bends forward with his hands extended toward a shaved-headed boy receiving a blessing. A man in an orange-saffron robe with a heavy gold necklace and rudraksha beads holds white threads stretched over the head of a kneeling boy, while another man in orange guides them. A woman in a magenta sari and a bearded man with long swept-back hair in an orange robe with gold ornaments also take part. Several boys and young men with bare torsos and beaded necklaces watch or assist, and a striped colourful banner hangs on the wall. The scene suggests a Gayatri or Shiva deeksha initiation with ritual thread-tying.2017-02-15Indoor evening photo of a devotional gathering with a row of people with palms pressed together in namaste. Many young boys and some adults wear saffron-orange cloth, while a central young man in white dhoti with a gold-bordered cloth and a black headdress stands with hands folded and a rudraksha-style bead necklace. In the right foreground, a figure with long black hair wrapped in a red-orange garment and a garland of pink and red flowers faces the group with back partly turned. Pale stone pillars and a beige wall form the background.2018-05-22A group of men in white dhotis and white kurtas, many with bare chests and rudraksha malas, gather in a hall with green draped backdrops. Blurred figures in the foreground and background, some with white tilak marks on the forehead, appear to be moving or dancing.2016-10-10A photograph of a temple-style ritual on a stage. Six people are visible: a bare-chested man in a yellow dhoti at left with white body markings, a man in a white dhoti beside him, and a man in a cream dhoti holding up a bundle of green leaves. In the centre a bearded priest wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha-style bead necklace and a white forehead mark, holding a large brass tray of marigold and mixed flower garlands.
