A standing figure in orange robes and an orange headcloth, seen from behind, raises a silver ritual lamp or aarti vessel toward him. Painted deity statues flank the left side, one wearing a gold crown and necklace, and a carved wooden lattice door sits to the right. Leopard-print cushions cover the seat, and hanging brass bells appear above the throne. a person is the seated figure: he sits on the throne, in red robes, with a garland, which is a throne-and-garland presentation rather than a distinctive appearance match, so the identity remains uncertain.2017-09-17May 08 20122012-05-08A seated man in a red-brown ochre robe sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions, eyes closed, wearing a white forehead mark, a long pink and white flower garland, a gold necklace and a rudraksha-style mala. He wears a rust-red dhoti with a red shawl, a pink and white flower garland, a gold pendant and chains, and a tilak on his forehead. Before him a sannyasi with long matted hair and an orange saffron cloth, arms adorned with white ash markings, holds a lit lamp or aarti tray with several flames toward him. Two painted deity murti figures with crowns and gold jewellery stand flanking the throne, with bells hanging above. The scene reads as a padapuja or aarti at the peetha, with the seated man in the main role of receiving honour.2017-09-02A photograph of a ritual in a temple-like hall. A seated man in a rust-red robe and a gold necklace sits on an ornate gold throne with a tiger-skin cushion, wearing a pink-and-white flower garland. In front of him, a sadhu with long matted dreadlocks, a saffron-orange head wrap and saffron-orange cloth wrapped at his waist holds a silver lamp stand. Flanking the throne are two painted figures in gold ornaments. Gold tassels and lamps hang behind the throne. The seated man has distinctive long hair? No: the seated figure has short hair, so the visible cues are only the robe, gold necklace and garland, which do not establish an identity; he is described by role only as a seated person being honoured.2017-09-02A photograph of a ritual at a gold-and-silver throne setting. A devotee in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, bare-chested with a rudraksha-style necklace, holds a lit aarti lamp with a flame toward a seated figure.
