In the foreground, women in saffron-orange saris with red borders and bangles sit on orange mats, one pressing food with her fingers; beside them women in white saris with orange shawls and yellow scarves serve and eat from banana leaves with small paper cups. A woman in a white sari bends at the far right, carrying a tray along the aisle, with a metal bucket on the floor. Behind them a large audience sits in white clothing. At the back, a tall devotional picture of a goddess in a forest setting hangs on the wall beside colourful hanging panels, and a seated figure in white at left is near a table with orange chairs. This is an annadan style community meal.2010-09-17 +1 copiesAnnadhan during Allahabad Kumbhamela 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesA group of women sit cross-legged on a glossy floor eating a meal served on green banana leaves with small paper cups of food and drink. Many women in rust-red and orange saris with gold borders sit in rows on a white cloth, eating from green banana leaves set with rice, curries and fried items, with small white paper cups and water bottles along the leaves. Behind them, people in white dhotis and white sarees with red shoulder cloths walk and serve. Rudraksha malas hang on several women, and some wear gold bangles.
