In the centre, a figure in a green-and-red garland and saffron cloth walks near the front of the group, some holding long staffs and others carrying items. In the foreground, two men in white dhoti-style cloths with rudraksha malas walk down the steps, one wearing a saffron shawl and beads. A window with a corrugated awning and a small green door are visible. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance, so the figure is described only by role.2013-02-13June 01 20062006-06-01A photograph of a crowded street in Varanasi with hazy morning light, shops, hanging signs and a fruit stall of tomatoes at right. Beside him, a man in a black top with an orange shawl walks at right, and a bearded man in white kurta holds a small container. A woman in a grey sweatshirt with a rudraksha-style mala and a bag walks at left, and a shawled elderly woman stands at far right. Several other people walk in the background.2006-01-06January 12 20072007-01-12January 05 20062006-01-05A procession of saffron-robed sannyasis descends a narrow stone staircase in a Varanasi lane beside a red carved temple wall. A central figure with long dark hair wears a marigold and orange garland, a black cloth and a rudraksha mala, and holds a trident-like staff. Several monks carry tall trident staffs and a decorated saffron standard, while others wear orange cloth with rudraksha malas and carry small bags. Behind them, white-clad men and more saffron-robed devotees climb the steps, with a red and blue striped pillar visible above. The scene suggests a Kashi temple visit in Varanasi.2013-02-13A narrow market street lined with stalls selling rudraksha malas, bangles, brass bells, tassels and other religious trinkets. In the foreground a man with long dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears an orange hooded top, an orange shawl and a heavy gold necklace, walking through the crowd. Behind him a man in a white cap, white shirt and white dhoti, with a lanyard badge, walks past a stall; other men in white caps and red lanyards are among the crowd, and a seated vendor sits at the right. Strings of beads hang from the awnings.2006-01-05January 12 20072007-01-12
