A large procession moves along a tree-lined dirt road past a red-walled building. Many people in orange and saffron cloth, some with orange turbans and rudraksha malas, walk among bright red flags and decorated multicoloured umbrellas on poles. Several drummers in orange dhotis and ornate necklaces beat drums at the front. A man in a red and gold turban and brocade garment stands near the centre, and a bare-chested youth in orange cloth with a garland and malas plays a drum at the lower right. Banana leaves and green trees line the path. The crowd is dense.2018-01-09January 09 20182018-01-09January 09 20182018-01-09A festival procession moves down a tree-lined path between red walls, with a crowd of devotees filling the frame. Many men and boys wear saffron-orange cloths, rudraksha malas and vibhuti, while others wear white dhotis and gold-bordered shawls. Red flags with a printed portrait of a smiling figure flutter above the crowd, and multicoloured fringed canopies and blue and yellow parasols shade the group. In the centre, a figure in a red-and-gold robe with a garland and an elaborate crown or headdress walks under a tasselled canopy, flanked by attendants, and may be a candidate for a person, though the appearance is uncertain. Dense crowds of roughly several dozen people are visible.2018-01-09July 19 20162016-07-19A photograph of a long outdoor procession on a dirt road lined with palm trees and dense green shrubs. Many devotees wear white dhotis and shawls with red sashes. Several carry tall red flags, one bearing a printed image of a bearded saffron-robed sadhu, and others hold large umbrellas in blue, yellow, red and navy with decorative fringes. In the right foreground a bald man in white dhoti and red-bordered shawl walks holding a red cloth, with a water bottle in hand. Women in white saris with red borders and rudraksha-style beads walk in the front rows. Many people are visible in the crowd, and the scene appears to be a sadhu procession with umbrellas and flags.2016-04-22
