The setting appears to be a ritual hall, and the scene reflects a Hindu puja with lamps and bells.

A photograph of a ritual scene in a plain room with pink walls and a red curtain. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts sit cross-legged on mats in rows, many wearing dark lanyard-style cords with rudraksha-like beads. They hold brass bells and incense sticks, with smoke drifting through the air, and open books or papers rest on their laps. In front of them are brass plates with flowers, turmeric-yellow powder, oil lamps lit on the floor, and small bowls of food offerings. Standing behind them at the far right is another figure in white. Nobody's face is singled out for identification here; the scene shows a group pooja with bells, incense and lamps.

A row of young men in white ritual dhotis and white upper cloths sits cross-legged on orange mats in a hall, performing a puja. Several raise small oil lamps with lit flames, and one in the foreground holds a lamp aloft with his right hand while his left hand is at his chest. Some wear rudraksha malas and gold bangles, and several have white urdhva-pundra forehead marks and white body markings. Brass plates of flowers, small brass vessels and a covered plastic container sit on the floor before them. Low brass and clay oil lamps burn on orange mats in front of them, beside plates of fruit, flower offerings, sweets and a green-lidded container of red flowers. A hanging orange and red cloth decorates the upper right. A few men wear rudraksha malas and forehead marks. The setting appears to be a ritual gathering, possibly a pada puja or satsang.
