A woman kneels at left, wearing white with a yellow lanyard and glasses, sorting long strands of green leaves. An older woman with grey hair at right, in a white patterned outfit, bends forward to arrange leaves. Scattered green leaves lie on the floor, and a white canopy and wooden structure appear in the background. The scene suggests preparation of decorations for a ritual setting.2009-06-09A long row of women in white and cream saris sits cross-legged on a polished floor, each before a banana-leaf plate of offerings with red kumkum, flowers, fruit and betel. Brass oil lamps with lit flames stand between them, and incense smoke rises from one plate. Several women hold their hands over the lamps or offerings, performing a puja. Some wear rudraksha or beaded necklaces and yellow-bordered garments. Behind them, a figure in an orange robe stands at the far end near a red curtain, and another woman in a yellow sari stands by the doorway. Cream walls and wooden doors frame the hall.2014-06-19June 29 20142014-06-29 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesJune 22 20092009-06-22A crowded indoor photo of women devotees gathered closely around a wooden tray filled with green leaves and small brass or copper cups, apparently preparing offerings. Several women wear saffron or orange sarees and rudraksha malas; others wear white and cream sarees with gold borders. Many have vibhuti or tilak marks on their foreheads and hair in buns or braids. A woman in the center in an orange saree with a long rudraksha mala reaches toward the tray. The setting is a plain room with a gold-framed doorway at right.2017-08-26 +1 copiesSeptember 15 20142014-09-15Five women sit cross-legged on a paved ground stringing yellow marigold flowers into garlands. Several wear white or cream sarees and salwar-style white outfits, one in a cream saree with a gold border and a white name badge, another in white with a shawl over her head. One woman in a white top with a red-and-gold embroidered neckline sits at the front right, and a woman with a long braid in a white saree with red floral borders works at the lower left. Heaps of yellow marigolds and scattered petals cover the ground between them. Their wrists are adorned with gold bangles and some wear rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. The activity suggests flower garland preparation for a puja or ceremony.2009-12-29
