They wear white dhotis with yellow-gold borders and are bare-chested with white sacred ash marks on their foreheads and bodies; some wear rudraksha malas. A brass oil lamp and small ritual items sit on a mat in front. Behind them, a glowing illuminated deity murti stands on an altar with red drapery. Several participants have long hair and some have shaved heads. The atmosphere is that of a group puja or meditation session.2017-01-01A seated group of men in white dhotis with red-and-pink borders performs a devotional ritual in a hall with red curtains. In the foreground, a man with short hair and a red tilak on his forehead, wearing a red-and-white dhoti and rudraksha mala, sits with palms pressed together and eyes closed. Beside him, a bald man with white markings on his chest and a rudraksha mala sits in prayer posture before brass puja vessels, a small bell and a lamp on an orange mat. Other seated men with bowed heads and folded hands fill the rows behind, with more people standing at the back.2011-01-29Four seated devotees meditate with eyes closed in white dhoti and shawl, marked with white vertical tilaka on the forehead and three horizontal white bands of ash on the arms. Many wear rudraksha malas and sacred white and red markings on their foreheads and bodies. In the foreground, brass plates hold oil lamps, flower petals, and small ritual offerings. Behind them, rows of attendees and brass ritual staffs are visible. The scene suggests a group puja or satsang observance, and no particular individual can be picked out with confidence here.2019-01-01 +1 copiesOctober 25 20102010-10-25March 15 20172017-03-15
