July 30 20082008-07-30Night photograph of an abhishekam at a large black Shiva lingam, with milky white liquid cascading down its surface. A man in a saffron-orange robe with a red-orange sash pours from a gold and wire-mesh pot raised overhead. To the right, a man in white dhoti and shirt with a yellow waist sash and a rudraksha-style bead mala stands beside another seated person in white, with a brass vessel and a bundle of green leaves nearby. A young priest with bare upper body, orange dhoti and a rudraksha mala pours water from a golden kalasha onto the bull's head, water splashing down. A small oil lamp flame glows at the pedestal's base. Behind, a golden-roofed stone lamp tower stands at left, and yellow metal railings and a few onlookers in white and orange clothes watch from the right. Only the priest's face is partly visible as he works.2017-11-15November 15 20172017-11-15A young shirtless priest in an orange dhoti with a red waistband pours milk from a golden vessel over a dark stone Nandi bull statue, a ritual abhishekam. He wears white horizontal sacred ash stripes across his chest and arms and a rudraksha mala. A garland of pink flowers rests on the statue's neck. Trees and a red flag blur in the background. The priest is a devotee performing the ritual; no a person candidate is visible.2016-11-11April 03 20082008-04-03 +1 copiesA close photo of a priest performing abhishekam on a grey stone Nandi bull statue. The priest, bare-chested in orange cloth and wearing rudraksha malas and a gold bangle, pours water from a brass vessel over the bull's head and back. Water streams down the stone, with marigold-like garland and red flowers resting near the base. A blurred green tree and building stand in the background.2016-10-17November 15 20172017-11-15December 11 20162016-12-11 +1 copiesDecember 03 20162016-12-03A young man in orange saffron garments, bare-chested with the wrap draped over his shoulder, pours water from a golden vessel over a large black Shiva lingam at night. Water streams down the glossy black stone, and a small flower lies on the red base. Behind him are a lit shrine-like structure, garlands of flowers and a lamp. This appears to be a lingam abhishekam ritual. No visible candidate matches the a person description, so no identity is asserted.2017-11-15
