2002 - Glimpses From Various Programs2002-01-01A priest with a bare chest and white dhoti with yellow-and-orange border performs a ritual at a decorated altar. He holds a small oil lamp with a flame over a garlanded object, beside a brass lamp stand and trays of petals and offerings. The altar is framed by an ornate gold-toned arch with an orange cloth backdrop, draped with garlands of white jasmine, red and yellow marigolds, and green leaves. Other people in white dhotis stand in the background, and a pot of plants sits nearby. A tiled red-and-pink mat covers the floor.2017-03-16July 21 20102010-07-21October 02 20142014-10-02November 12 20102010-11-12A temple priest in an orange dhoti and orange shawl, wearing an ornate silver-and-gold crown, bends forward to adorn a pair of deity murti with garlands of red, yellow, white and purple flowers. The murti are richly dressed in orange and gold silk, with a silver face and crown on the smaller figure. The offering stands on a red cloth draped over a stone platform, scattered with petals. Behind him, a seated figure in an orange robe with a shaved head sits near a golden kalasha on a stone ledge, and a brass oil lamp rests in the foreground. A white-clad person sits to the left beside a microphone on a stand. The setting is an open temple pavilion with orange and red pillars and a gold-railed gate behind.2010-11-12A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl, with white sacred markings on forehead and arm and a rudraksha-style mala, sits cross-legged at night performing puja. He pours from a silver vessel onto a large black shivalinga draped in white cloth and garlanded with red and yellow flowers. Rows of smaller black lingams with white cloth and yellow flower garlands extend behind him. Silver puja vessels, a bell, a small lamp and a plate of white flowers lie on the platform, which has red-and-white striped edges. Oil lamps glow in the background.2011-04-17A photograph of a temple ritual in an open courtyard. A man in an orange saffron robe and a tall ornate decorated headdress stands bent over at a stone altar, adorning a metal deity murti with garlands of red, yellow and purple flowers and a gold-bordered red silk cloth. A seated priest in white dhoti and shawl with a gold necklace sits at a microphone with a bell and an offering tray of orange flowers beside him. Two more men in white ritual clothes stand in the background near a doorway, and a lit oil lamp rests on the stone ledge at right.2010-11-12July 16 20152015-07-16December 01 20112011-12-01A photo inside a shrine of an elderly bald man kneeling and pouring water from a small silver vessel (kalasha) over a stone platform. He wears an orange-saffron dhoti with gold-edged borders, a rudraksha mala headband, white vertical tilak and ash markings on his forehead and bare chest, a gold bangle, and a gold earring. Behind him are pink and white flower garlands, a gold deity-form backdrop, and brass oil lamps. The bare-chested figure's distinctive adornments are not enough to establish a person's identity, so the appearance is uncertain. One person is visible.2012-06-05A bare-chested man with a shaved head kneels on an orange cloth before a shrine decorated with pink and white flower garlands and brass lamps. He wears a red-beaded necklace, a gold chain, an orange dhoti with gold border and a gold armband, and has white sacred ash on his forehead and arms. With one hand he sprinkles or offers from a silver vessel onto a tray of flowers and fruit. A metal kalasha and oil lamps sit on a marble platform, and a deity murti is visible in the background.
