A dense crowd of men gathers in a doorway and corridor with orange walls and yellow ceiling beams, a green mango-leaf torana hanging over the door. At centre, a man with a shaved head wears an orange-saffron garment and a rudraksha mala, a white cloth on his chest, and a forehead marked with vibhuti; he is surrounded by devotees and uniformed police officers in khaki. In the foreground a man in a red shirt with a tilak stands near a vertical stick, and other men in white shirts and brown clothes press forward, some raising hands and phones.2012-05-18May 18 20122012-05-18A photograph of a crowded verandah with orange and yellow walls and wooden barred windows. A bare-chested man with a red-orange cloth and beaded necklaces stands in a doorway, his palms pressed together in greeting, a string of green leaves hanging above the door. Around him, many men and a woman in white and cream clothes press close; a uniformed police officer in a khaki cap stands at right. A man in a red shirt with a red forehead mark stands in front, and a man in a light shirt holds a small brass vessel. A man in white shirt and white dhoti with a rudraksha mala stands in front in the foreground, and other men in white and saffron-coloured clothes crowd around, some with hands raised in greeting or folded in reverence. A woman in an orange sari with a red border stands at the right edge. The central figure's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person, but the face is partly obscured by the crowd and the appearance cues are not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the figure is described by role only.2014-07-01Night procession at an ashram walkway led by a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a gold-and-white garland, carrying a small brass vessel with a flower or leaf offering. Behind him a man in a red silk garment and beaded necklaces walks beside a figure under a striped red, yellow and white parasol with tassels, held aloft on a pole. In front, a drummer in white beats a drum and a flute player in white plays, while other white-robed and saffron-clad devotees with rudraksha malas walk and press palms together. A man in a white dhoti holds a bouquet of white and red flowers. Potted plants line the path under red-painted pillars.2011-11-06May 18 20122012-05-18A crowd moves through a doorway inside a bright hall with a textured grey wall. A man with long hair, wearing a reddish-maroon robe and a long rudraksha mala, smiles while holding a white and yellow flower garland. Beside him, a woman in a white sari with a cream border and a dark ponytail accepts the garland. Two shaven-headed men in saffron and orange shawls stand at left, one with a white tilak and rudraksha beads. Behind them, men in white shirts and other devotees fill the frame, and a shrine with red and green garlands is visible through the doorway.2014-07-04July 01 20142014-07-01June 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copies
