A banner behind the stage reads Bhagavad Gita and a second line in Tamil, with lit oil lamps along the stage edge. Tall floodlights stand over the grounds at dusk, and a smaller side stage on the right has a white canopy, a red-draped table and a portrait. Most people in the crowd wear white shirts. Only a few figures on stage are visible at this distance, so no individual can be identified; the stage figures are seated among the lamps.2010-01-11 +1 copiesJanuary 11 20102010-01-11 +1 copiesA large outdoor crowd gathers at dusk among tall palm trees at a Seeragapadi event. A uniformed police officer in khaki stands near the barrier. Large banners on poles show a portrait of a saffron-robed figure with long hair and a crown-like headpiece, beside Tamil text. Strings of lights and orange flags decorate the grounds, and a stage with lights and a blue canopy is visible in the background.2010-02-18
