A woman in a red-pink saree and matching blouse, with hair pulled back and a dark bindi, bends forward to light or tend a small oil lamp on a red cloth-covered altar. Behind her stands a large ornate golden shrine with an arched top, garlanded with orange-red and white flower garlands. Brass and gold ritual objects, bowls and offerings sit on the lower table. Dark red drapes form the background. No a person candidate is visible.2022-02-28A photograph of a shaved-headed priest in a bare-chested pose with a white dhoti and a rudraksha-style necklace, seen from behind, reaching up to scatter white flower petals over a tall gold-plated deity murti shaped like a shiva linga with a gold arch behind it. The murti is draped in red and yellow marigold garlands and a red-and-gold cloth. Below it sits a gold pedestal with ornate relief carving and an orange-and-red silk cloth hanging down the front. A small brass kalasha or lamp stand with a decorative silver-and-red base sits at the foot. Smoke and oil lamp flames appear at left against a dark background, consistent with an abhishekam or aarti ritual.2022-03-01KAILASA HOUSTON, USA on 3/1/20222022-03-01June 28 20142014-06-28Jan 28 2022 sripuram2022-01-28 +1 copiesPhoto 99222462022-05-29 +1 copiesKAILASA HOUSTON, USA on 3/1/20222022-03-01A shirtless priest with a shaved head, wearing a white dhoti and a sacred thread over his bare back, stands with his back to the camera and raises a lit lamp toward a golden deity murti. The murti stands in a golden arched frame and is draped with red and orange marigold garlands. Below it, an ornate gold altar with orange and red cloth panels holds a small silver-and-gold offering vessel on a red cloth. The dark red curtains and soft spotlight create a temple-like setting. Only the priest is physically present; the deity is a statue. The priest is not an identifiable a person candidate, so the appearance is not sufficient to name anyone.2022-03-01A photograph of a temple ritual in a room with dark red drapes. A woman seen from behind, with her hair in a bun, wears an orange sari with blue and gold borders and offers yellow flower petals from a brass vessel toward a large gilded deity structure. The golden shrine is draped with red, orange and white marigold garlands and includes an ornate arched frame, with a golden deity murti at its centre. A red-draped table in front holds brass plates, lamps and offerings. The setting suggests a Kumbhabhishekam ritual at a Shiva temple.2022-02-27KAILASA HOUSTON, USA on 4/14/20222022-04-14 +1 copiesA woman in a white and gold-bordered sari stands at left, holding a flame toward a deity murti in a golden arched shrine.
