An elderly bald man with a gold-banded headpiece, forehead tilak and layered rudraksha and white-bead malas, wearing saffron and gold-bordered orange cloth, holds a folded orange cloth and reaches forward. Beside him a younger shaved-headed man in orange robes and a sacred thread-style neck garland bows with palms pressed together, his head bowed. A tall man in white dhoti and shirt stands at left, and several men in white shirts and dhotis surround them. Crowd members press in at the edges.2012-05-18Photograph inside a temple corridor of four men in a close group, with a bright light source behind. At centre, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange and gold-bordered dhoti-style garment, a heavy gold necklace with a large pendant, and holds his hands clasped at his waist. The man at left wears a magenta cloth, a rudraksha and blue bead mala, and white sacred ash markings on his arms and chest, and holds a long ceremonial spear-like staff with a metal tip. At right, a shaved-headed man with white tripundra ash on his forehead wears a red-orange shawl and a silver-beaded necklace, and holds a wooden-handled rod. Behind them stand a man in white shirt with a pink rosette badge, an older man in white, and men in orange cloth. Strings of green and red garlands hang in the background. Swamiji (probable) appearance cues apply to the centre man: long swept-back hair, orange and gold clothing and an ornate gold necklace.2006-12-04April 29 20162016-04-29A seated man in an orange-saffron shawl and rust-brown robe sits on an ornate gold throne, smiling and handing a small red envelope or packet to a bare-chested devotee in white dhoti with gold border who bends forward to receive it. Behind the throne stand silver trishula staffs and a golden peetha backdrop; a second bald man in a red-brown cloth and rudraksha-style beads watches, and more attendants in red stand at right. Red and orange draped fabric and warm sunlight fill the tent. The seated figure wears a rudraksha mala, ear ornaments, a sandalwood tilak and a gold arm band, and appears to be a person by appearance cues, which is noted as an identity claim from the page only.2013-02-08A photograph of a crowded indoor event hall with white fabric walls and string lights. A man with long, swept-back dark hair, wearing a rust-red shawl over a bare chest with a dark rudraksha-style mala, sits at the right on a gold-accented seat with his arm resting on it. Standing beside him, a man in white dhoti and shawl holds a tall golden trident-topped staff and an apple-like fruit. Around them, a bald man in saffron-brown robes and a long beaded necklace points while speaking to younger men in casual clothes, one in an orange t-shirt. A man in white ritual dress with a green lanyard stands nearby, and a woman with a red tilak sits low in the foreground.2016-05-17A photograph inside an orange-draped tent at a crowded event. In the centre, a man with long swept-back hair wears a tall orange turban, an orange robe and shawl, and layered ornate gold necklaces with a rudraksha mala; he raises one hand in address. Swamiji (probable): the long hair, turban, saffron robe and ornate gold necklaces match the cues. To his right, a shaved-headed man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala stands beside him. On the left, a devotee in white dhoti with a rudraksha mala looks on, and in the foreground a man in a brown vest bends low, touching the floor in obeisance. Many other people in orange, white and casual clothes fill the background, with orange banners and hanging decorations above.2013-02-22January 13 20152015-01-13June 13 20132013-06-13A photograph of a temple or ashram hall with a white canopy and colourful decorative pillars. In the centre, a smiling person in an orange-saffron garment with a white head wrap, layered rudraksha-style beads and a large ceremonial pendant holds a hand on the bowed head of a man in white clothes who kneels before a small red box. To the right, a bare-chested priest with white sacred markings on his arms wears orange cloth. Standing devotees around them wear white dhotis, orange shawls and rudraksha malas, and one man holds folded hands. The scene suggests a blessing or initiation exchange.2013-01-14
