Steel bowls hold white rice with vegetables, a yellow-orange tempered rice dish, a pale creamy porridge-like dish, and crisp fried snacks. Two red apples, a coconut and a plate of green betel or leaves sit at left. Behind the food are brass and silver vessels, a small ritual tray, a silver lamp, incense sticks in a cup, and a folded orange cloth. A person in white garments is partly visible at top left, so the scene is an offering arranged before a ritual.2010-11-12April AF 2012Close-up photo of an ornate silver thali tray set on a gold-coloured tray, holding several embossed silver bowls with scalloped rims. The bowls contain milk, a golden grain or prasad mixture, a red and white flower offering of rose petals and jasmine-like white blossoms, and a red petal arrangement. A white-clad lap and a gold-embroidered cloth are visible at the top edge, with orange fabric at left. Only fragments of a person's clothing appear, no face is visible. The image is an offering arrangement from a pada-puja style ritual.2010-08-05November 12 20102010-11-12August 05 20102010-08-05A stainless steel round thali plate on a dark granite-look step with white dotted and wavy painted border, holding a small bowl of white cooked rice with mustard seeds and curry leaves, a bowl of orange-red tangy sauce, a bowl of green chutney, a bowl of diced mango pieces, and a small steel tumbler of water. No people are visible. Sunlight falls across the plate in a stone-walled niche.2010-06-30Top-down view of a red cloth-covered table holding six stainless steel bowls of prepared foods: a central bowl of golden fried savory snacks, a bowl of white rice with dark specks, a bowl of pale beige paste, a bowl of orange-yellow rice with red chilies, a bowl of yellow rice with orange vegetables, and a bowl of coarse brown mash. Fresh green leaves and a red fruit sit at the left edge on a metal plate, with a small brass tray and dish in the background. No people are visible; the foods appear to be offerings or prasadam laid out for a ritual.2010-11-12November 12 20102010-11-12
