Two women sit cross-legged on the floor before an orange wall, performing a puja. Both wear white saris with gold-bordered pallu and yellow shawls draped over their shoulders. The woman on the left holds a small brass vessel and a spoon, and a thin wisp of smoke rises beside her. The woman on the right has a white tilak on her forehead and joins her palms in prayer. Before them on the floor are brass thalis with yellow flowers, small brass bowls and cups, a brass lamp, a conch-shaped vessel and a green mat. No a person candidate is visible in the scene.2010-08-08December 24 20142014-12-24A photograph of a ritual table at an indoor event. Another woman in white with a lanyard stands at the left, and a man in a light blue shirt with a lanyard stands behind her. A person in an orange and maroon garment is seen at the left edge. Behind the table is a white sign with a list of numbered items, and a wall of orange and red garlands and a framed image of a saffron-clad figure. Several wear white or cream sarees and salwar-style white outfits, one in a cream saree with a gold border and a white name badge, another in white with a shawl over her head. One woman in a white top with a red-and-gold embroidered neckline sits at the front right, and a woman with a long braid in a white saree with red floral borders works at the lower left. Heaps of yellow marigolds and scattered petals cover the ground between them. Their wrists are adorned with gold bangles and some wear rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. The activity suggests flower garland preparation for a puja or ceremony.2009-12-29Annadhan in 20092009-01-01 +1 copiesAugust 13 20162016-08-13A photograph taken indoors in a small concrete-walled preparation room during pradosha puja preparations. Four women sit on the floor preparing offerings: a woman in white clothes with a white shawl stirs a steel pot, while two women in orange-bordered and orange-saffron garments peel and arrange fruit from a steel bowl, and a woman in white with a white shawl works at the lower right. A stack of red and orange flower garlands lies on a mat at left, beside several polished brass kalashas and vessels. Steel pots and plastic bags sit around the room, with a cardboard box and a wooden stool at right.2007-09-24A photograph of a small room during a puja. Two women in white saris with gold borders sit on the floor; the woman on the right holds a lit oil lamp with a tall flame in one hand and a metal vessel in the other, and wears a rudraksha mala. The woman in the centre sits with palms pressed together in prayer. Pink and white flower petals are scattered over a yellow-tiered altar of stacked bricks, with a silver cup, brass bowls and a large arrangement of yellow and pink flowers in the foreground. A woman in the lower left corner has her hands folded in prayer. On the wall above is a framed printed portrait of a figure in a white turban and saffron robe, with a rudraksha mala, garlanded with flowers; its visible face and appearance are too small and indistinct for a confident identification. A brass oil lamp stands at the left edge.
