Close-up of a pair of ornate silver padukas (sandal-shaped footwear) resting on a large embossed gold-coloured tray. The silver surfaces are engraved with floral and leaf scrollwork and decorated with strings of pearls and dark red marigold-type flowers arranged across them. Each paduka has a small round ornament near the front, and a jewelled ornamental border with green, red and white stones lies along the lower edge of the tray. A deep maroon patterned cloth lies beneath the tray. No people are visible, so this reads as a ritual padapuja display of sacred footwear.2021-09-14 +1 copiesPhotograph of a pair of ornate silver padukas (sacred sandals) resting on a large engraved brass plate with a scalloped rim.
