A photograph from a temple ritual where a shaved-headed devotee in an orange turban and orange dhoti, bare-backed, stands at a golden shrine and reaches toward an ornately dressed deity murti. The murti wears a black and gold crown, a green jewelled chest ornament, white jasmine garlands and a gold necklace, and is seated on an orange cloth with a gold border. A second orange-clad attendant with a beard and long hair stands at right, partly visible. A golden lion-shaped carving sits in the lower right foreground, and the shrine is framed by gold lattice panels with a gold arch overhead.2021-03-14Two priests in orange garments hold a blue cloth with raised arms above a decorated deity murti seated on an orange and gold throne. The murti wears a black crown with gold trim, white and pink flower garlands, and gold ornaments. The priest on the left wears an orange turban and orange dhoti with a bare upper body; the priest on the right has long matted hair and wears an orange shawl and striped waist cloth. A gold lion-headed or serpent-shaped ritual object and a gold-carved wall frame the scene, consistent with a temple ceremony such as a thirukalyanam.2021-03-14ADIKAILASA on 3/14/20212021-03-14April 30 20122012-04-30ADIKAILASA on 3/14/20212021-03-14ADIKAILASA on 3/14/20212021-03-14Photo 11694031October 17 20182018-10-17A photograph inside a temple sanctum of an ornate shrine decorated with multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, white and purple. Two large metal deity murtis stand at the centre, one with a tall orange crown and the other with a decorated headdress and jewelled necklaces. A man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl with a beaded necklace stands before them, holding a silver vessel. A shaved-headed man in orange robes kneels at the lower left, holding a bowl up toward him, possibly for abhishekam. Gold brass lamps and a large gilded figure appear on the right and a carved stone pillar on the left.2012-04-30August 04 20182018-08-04December 20 20182018-12-20December 22 20182018-12-22
