A dark-skinned hand with a rudraksha bracelet holds a bundle of green mango leaves and grass with pink flowers, dipping them into a silver kalasha pot draped with a white cloth and decorated with a colourful patterned band and gold-and-purple jewelled ornaments. Behind, a person in a maroon-red robe wears a long rudraksha mala across the chest, and to the left a bare arm shows white horizontal tripundra marks and a rudraksha bracelet. The background is a blurred gold ornate surface. The image appears to show abhishekam or puja with a kalasha and mango-leaf sprinkling.2018-03-12Close-up of a priest's hands pouring water from a silver kalasha vessel with a spout shaped like an animal head, the vessel wrapped in a white cloth tied with pink flowers and marked with a turmeric-yellow stain. The priest wears a white dhoti with gold borders, a gold-bordered shawl, and a beaded rudraksha-style mala with gold accents. Blurred in the background, another figure in orange-red garments and beads stands near tropical green foliage.2018-04-14January 13 20182018-01-13 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual exchange at a temple event. On the left, a shirtless man with white sacred ash markings on his chest and a magenta-and-gold turban bends forward, holding a woven white basket with a red tassel and green leaves. On the right, a smiling bearded man in a black turban with a red tilak on his forehead wears a maroon-red garment, layered rudraksha malas on his arms and chest, a gold necklace, and a tiger-striped lower cloth. He reaches toward the basket. Behind them are blurred yellow and purple garlands and decorations. The scene suggests an offering during a temple ceremony.2018-01-31December 02 20162016-12-02December 31 20152015-12-31A seated man in rust-brown ochre robes and a gold-and-red-stone necklace sits on a red-cushioned silver throne, eyes closed, with rudraksha beads on his wrists and upper arm, and a tilak on his forehead. He holds a sprig of green leaves over a white woven basket held by a bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a red head cloth and a green-and-white shawl. Silver lion-form and ceremonial objects sit beside the throne. The setting appears to be a temple interior with stone walls and a saffron-clad figure in the background. Appearance cues include long swept-back hair, ochre robes, rudraksha malas and a gold necklace, so this is a probable Swamiji (probable) seated in a ritual blessing role; the priest assists with an offering basket.2017-09-26 +1 copiesClose photograph of a ritual scene in warm, smoky light. A person's bare forearm and hand hold a clear glass vessel wrapped in a white criss-cross thread netting, with a second similarly wrapped pot behind it. Gold and beaded ornaments hang from the arm and shoulder, and a white and green striped cloth with gold border lies across the figure's waist. Yellow flowers appear at the lower right and smoke drifts through the frame. No face is visible and no identifiable person is shown.2017-08-02Close photo of a ritual scene with a silver-toned metal pillar or post in the centre and a decorated silver tray holding flower petals at the bottom. A man's bare forearm with a red thread on the wrist reaches toward a pair of hands near the tray. Behind them a woman in a red-orange sari with a long beaded necklace and ornate gold jewellery, and another person wearing a dark head covering, appear in the background, with garlands of red and yellow flowers at the lower left. Photo credit overlay in the lower right reads text on the image.2018-02-13
