A photograph of a seated group of young boys and teenagers in an indoor hall with white marble flooring. Most wear orange and gold-bordered dhotis or wraps, and several have rudraksha malas around their necks. Some have white or sandalwood forehead markings, and one wears a red bindi. Their eyes are closed or lowered as they sit in meditation. Behind them, older men in white and orange sit on the floor, and a wooden door panel is visible on the wall. No one is clearly identifiable as a person in this frame.2016-02-21 +2 copiesAugust 16 20162016-08-16A photograph of a large group of young women and girls seated cross-legged on a mat outdoors at night, dressed in saffron-orange saris with pink borders and wearing rudraksha mala necklaces. Foreground boys wear orange cloth and rudraksha malas, their foreheads and arms marked with white ash; some hold small items at their hands while sitting before brass puja vessels, small dishes and flowers on low tables. Behind them, rows of seated participants in maroon and red garments and white clothing sit behind rope barriers, with a few standing figures and an older man in white at the right edge. Several have white tilak stripes across the forehead and shaved heads. One boy in the foreground holds a white object in his hands, and brass dishes, flower petals and a red-and-white flower offering lie on the floor before them. Adult devotees in white and orange clothing sit in the background, and a wrist watch and red flowers are visible near the front. The scene resembles a puja or satsang, with the boys participating as young sannyasi-style students.2014-06-06June 02 20142014-06-02
