November 01 20152015-11-01 +1 copiesA row of men in white dhotis and orange shawls sit cross-legged on a bare floor under a woven bamboo-mat roof, eating a meal served on green banana leaves with steel tumblers. The man on the far right, with long swept-back dark hair, a grey-streaked beard, a red tilak and a wristwatch, is smiling and gazing to the side, and he is the strongest candidate for Swamiji (probable) based on his long swept-back hair, orange shawl and beard, with the Maheshwara Puja context noted. Other people nearby, including a man with a bare chest in the middle, eat with their hands. A portrait of a man in a white turban and red tilak hangs on the left, beside orange triangular flags. The scene is a communal puja meal.2006-10-12Outdoor photograph of a meal being served under a tree-shaded wooden table with green foliage and a wire fence behind. Two elderly sadhus sit at left in saffron-orange wraps and orange turbans; the bearded one in the centre wears a red shirt under his orange shawl and holds a steel plate. A man in a white collared shirt at right, with a small red mark on his forehead, scoops food from a steel plate with his hand. Steel plates of food sit on the table. A printed copyright caption appears over the lower right of the image.2012-01-08A photograph of sannyasis seated cross-legged on a striped mat during a meal, eating from fresh green banana leaves. Several men wear saffron/orange cloth draped over the upper body with rudraksha malas and wrist beads; one man in the foreground wears wire-rimmed glasses and a bare upper body with a leopard-print cloth at the waist. Others in white dhotis with gold borders sit to the left, one with a tilak mark on the forehead. Each leaf holds rice, fried snacks, sweet and savoury preparations and a small dish. The scene shows an annadan-style communal meal in an open hall. No individual is identified.2018-01-14October 07 20062006-10-07Outdoors under a shaded open structure with banana plants and trees behind, several men in plain white dhoti-style clothes eat from stainless steel plates of rice and food. The man in the centre, wearing a white kurta and a red bindi, lifts food to his mouth with his right hand. A young man at left holds a steel plate, another stands behind in white, and a man at right eats with his fingers, wearing a red thread and a bangle. Some wear red-and-white sacred threads around their necks. No visible candidate matches the a person description, so this is a meal of devotees after a ritual. Roughly half a dozen people are visible.2006-10-21A photograph of a row of men seated cross-legged on the floor of an open pavilion, eating from banana-leaf plates of rice, sides and sweets. They wear white dhotis and kurta-style shirts with orange saffron shawls draped over the shoulders. The nearest man on the right has long hair, a full beard and a wristwatch and is seated with hands folded. Brass oil lamps and kalasha-like vessels stand along the row, and spectators sit on red benches in the background. The scene resembles a communal meal following a ritual, shown in a sacred-arts style setting.2006-11-20September 20 20152015-09-20Outdoor lunch break under a thatched open-sided shelter with wooden posts and a red tiled floor, surrounded by green shrubs. Devotees in plain white shirts, white dhotis and white kurtas eat from metal plates; a man in the foreground on the left wears a dark rudraksha-style mala and an ID badge, while a seated man in white holds a plate of food and another man at right eats from a steel plate. Several women in white saris and cream blouses also sit and eat. Light-coloured plastic chairs and a few people standing with plates suggest a communal meal during an inner healing training break.2006-10-07Annadhan during Allahabad Kumbhamela 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesNovember 12 2006 Salem Aadheenam Inauguration2006-11-12September 20 20152015-09-20
