At the centre, an illuminated palanquin or ratha glows with fairy lights and carries a dark ornate umbrella above a deity or dignitary seated under it. Along both sides, a long line of people walks: many women and girls in red and orange saris with rudraksha malas, and men in white dhotis and orange or saffron shawls, some carrying items. Crowd size is large, with dozens of participants visible in the frame.2016-02-17October 12 20132013-10-12A night procession moves along a dark road, lit by a bright floodlight at left. Many women and men walk closely together. Many women wear dark maroon saris with gold borders and long beaded necklaces, while some wear white or orange garments. A tall gold-tipped staff rises among the crowd at right. Behind them a lit, ornately decorated temple-style chariot glows with orange light, holding a deity murti in a festival procession. A man at right wears a white dhoti with a gold-patterned border and a dark beaded necklace.2013-10-12Night procession photographed from the crowd. A gilded, ornate golden palanquin or ratha with arched canopy and carved panels is lit with small lights. Seated on a golden throne in the centre is a figure wearing a crown-like headdress, red garments and a large garland of flowers, holding a staff; attendants stand beside the palanquin. Devotees in orange and saffron clothing walk in front and around it, and an orange cloth or flag is visible at right. The page title refers to a Ganesh Chaturthi satsang and procession; the seated figure appears to match the a person appearance cues of a crown, garlands and ornate dress, so the identification is probable but the face is not visible in detail.2017-08-25October 12 20132013-10-12A night-time outdoor ritual at a decorated shrine with a golden canopy and deity murti, garlanded in red and white flowers and draped in red cloth, flanked by carved lion-like figures and red flags. In front, a man in orange robes holds a lit oil lamp, and a man in orange robes beside him stands with hands folded in namaskar. Devotees in white, some with folded hands, crowd the foreground, while a woman in a red garment with a flower garland on the right joins in prayer. Electric lights illuminate the scene against the dark background.2009-01-20October 03 20142014-10-03Night procession on a gravel road past an illuminated golden ratha-style chariot with a deity murti in a glowing shrine canopy, lit by warm orange lamps. A large crowd of devotees in saffron and red dhotis and sarees walks in line; a man in a white dhoti and shawl with a dark beaded mala stands near the centre, and a person in a red and gold garment holds a dark ceremonial umbrella (kudai) over a figure at right. Trees and purple string lights frame the background, with a small illuminated shrine at right.2016-02-21A night procession moves along a dark road lit by a single bright lamp on a wall behind.
