A black stone statue of a deity seated on a rock base in an ornate silver-coloured arched shrine niche, with a bright pink fabric backdrop. The figure wears a white turban and white dhoti-style cloth, with a rudraksha-type bead mala and orange-brown beaded necklaces, and red and white flower garlands drape over the shoulders and sides. One hand holds a pink lotus, another a trident-like staff, and a small figure lies at the base. Two brass oil lamps stand at the front, and trees surround the outdoor setting. The statue is a murti, not a living person.2012-04-26A black stone murti of Dakshinamurthi, the seated form of Shiva as teacher, sits in a carved white stone arch set against a bright pink cloth backdrop under green trees.
