A stage photograph of a ceremonial puja. A man seated on an ornate silver throne with a silver canopy, draped in red-and-saffron robes, wears a golden crown and holds a long staff, with a garland of purple and white flowers and a rudraksha-style necklace. Beside him stands a golden statue of a female deity with hands folded, and to the right an ornately decorated deity murti is garlanded in red, purple and white flowers, under a gold parasol. Brass lamps, offerings and a small wooden stand sit on a red carpet, with a backdrop showing a red-lit gopuram temple tower and red drapes above. The seated man is a probable Swamiji by visible cues: a crown, a rudraksha-style necklace and saffron-toned robes; the identification is appearance-based only.2018-04-25Photograph of a stage performance before an ornate golden throne topped with a seven-headed cobra hood, with a large temple-themed backdrop in blue, pink and teal. A man seated on the throne wears a rust-orange dhoti-style cloth, a yellow and green garland, and multiple gold bangles; he has bare shoulders and is extending his hands toward a kneeling woman in a purple shawl over a red and blue skirt. Standing to the left, a woman in black with an orange shawl and a man in a green shawl and white dhoti watch. Two girls in orange and gold bandhani-style garments and flower-adorned hair stand close by, one holding a maroon bag. A man with a white forehead marking and a garland stands behind them. Gold-patterned leopard-print cushions and a carved footrest sit before the throne on a red patterned rug.2017-09-21 +1 copiesA man seated cross-legged on an ornate gold throne with a carved arched back and lion-head armrests, set against deep red velvet drapes. He sits with palms pressed together at his chest in namaste, eyes closed, wearing a saffron-orange robe with a gold-edged yellow cloth, a rudraksha mala necklace, and a red tilak on his forehead. He sits on a red tiger-striped cushion over a white tiger-skin throne mat. Brass oil lamps stand on either side, and gold-trimmed red platforms with fruit offerings flank him. He wears a leopard-print headband with a silver crescent, a rust-orange cloth wrap over bare shoulders, a leopard-print waist sash, and multiple rudraksha malas with a silver pendant. He raises one hand in a gesture of blessing. Beside him stands a tall silver trident with a damaru drum tied to its shaft by a leopard-print cloth. A red-and-gold patterned carpet covers the floor. The figure's distinctive adornments and throne setting suggest a person, seated in a teaching or darshan pose.2017-08-26
