Across the table a young woman in white with an orange lanyard and red-bordered shawl eats from a tray. Many devotees sit in rows on a long mat, mostly seen from behind, wearing cream and beige dhotis and blouses with rudraksha malas. A woman in an orange sari sits at the front, facing the group. On the right, a large deity murti or seated figure in red and gold sits on a throne-like peetha before a golden arch. Brass plates with banana-leaf meals, small oil lamps and steel tumblers line the floor in front of the row. A red door and a framed portrait on the left wall complete the setting.2019-01-01A photo from a community meal hall with a long steel table where seated men in white shirts and dhotis eat from metal plates. A man in a white shirt holds a steel bowl and serves food. Beside him stands a long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe with an orange turban and a beaded rudraksha-style mala, handing food to a seated diner. Several other men in white and orange stand in the background, and a dim hall with pillars and a distant table of items is visible. Appearance cues are present but not conclusive, so the identity of the robed figure is uncertain.2006-12-15December 25 20082008-12-25
