Three men stand on the roof of a vehicle, working under a cloudy sky with palm fronds and trees behind them. The man in the centre wears a red headcloth and white shirt and is pulling a dark tarpaulin over the roof. The man on the left wears a dark shirt and light shorts, and the man on the right wears a yellow shawl and a checked lungi. A reddish-brown truck or bus body is visible at lower right, and palm leaves cross the foreground. No ritual, a person or ceremony is visible in this scene.

A photograph of a bamboo scaffold frame under construction on dusty ground at an ashram site. Three workers are visible: one standing on the top bamboo crossbar at left in a plaid shirt, one in the middle near the top, and one at right in white dhoti and white shirt with a red cloth on his head, working near a blue plastic barrel. Palm trees, a thatched-roof white building with blue windows, stacked corrugated sheets at left and scattered bamboo poles fill the scene.

A photograph of a construction site on a dirt ground at an ashram campus. A bamboo and wooden pole frame is being assembled into a long open shelter structure. Two workers climb on the top of the frame while a third man in a white shirt and checked lungi stands below, and a fourth figure in white walks along the right side near orange-tinted clothing. Scattered timber poles lie on the ground, with palm trees, a blue barrel and a white sack at the left. A two-storey building with a red roof sits in the background under a cloudy sky.

Photograph of an open-sided white-walled hall under a stretched white canvas roof with wooden beams, palm trees visible beyond. A man in white shirt and dark trousers stands on the wall top, placing a dark tarpaulin over the beams. Below, a man in white clothing stands on a metal stepladder while another man in white helps steady it. Along the right, about a dozen men in white clothes sit on the floor in a row, some standing nearby, beside a shrine with red and orange deity decorations on the far right. Wire mesh screens line the left wall.

A street procession in a village lane after rain, with a wet paved road lined by low houses, palm trees and a utility pole with overhead wires. A man in a white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl holds a long pole topped with a brass-looking vessel raised toward the sky. Behind him an attendant in white holds a large colourful umbrella with red, green, blue and yellow panels and fringed border over the procession. Other men in white dhotis and kurtas walk along the road, and a man in a checked shirt stands on the right. The scene reflects a ratha yatra-style ceremonial walk.

A dusty village lane by the sea after a cyclone. Damaged thatched huts, scattered wreckage, a bicycle lying on its side and torn fishing net dominate the scene. A group of about twenty men, women and children in white shirts, red shirts, sarees and dhotis stands clustered together in the centre, some holding small items, while others stand along the road. Utility poles with sagging wires run across the sky above the open coastal view.

A photograph of an outdoor bamboo scaffolding frame under construction on a dusty ground at an ashram compound. Several bamboo poles form a rectangular grid of horizontal and vertical beams. Two workers stand on the upper bamboo cross-members near the left, one in a light shirt and one in pale clothing. A man in a white shirt and dark lungi stands at the left holding a bamboo pole, and another person in light clothing stands at the right near the frame. Behind them are a white building with a thatched roof and blue doors, a water tower, palm trees and leafy trees under a cloudy sky. Blue barrels and scattered bamboo pieces lie on the ground.

Outdoor photograph at an open construction site beneath palm trees and a corrugated metal shed roof. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and white dhoti, wearing glasses and a dark patterned scarf draped over his shoulder, stands facing the camera. Behind him a young man in white shirt and white dhoti stands at a tall metal pole, hands raised to a green cloth, while another man in white clothes stands near a stack of metal drums wrapped in purple cloth. A figure in white draped in white fabric stands near the shed wall, and a partially visible person in white walks at the left edge. Loose red earth, bricks and concrete blocks cover the ground.
