A shaved-headed priest bare-chested in white dhoti with an orange-bordered cloth over his shoulder offers a brass tray, while a man in white shirt and dhoti stands beside him at the shrine. A woman in orange stands at the left edge and a camera operator is visible at the far left. Tamil inscriptions appear on the canopy, and a building under construction stands behind.2006-10-22Two golden deity murtis stand in a gilded shrine-like structure with carved pillars, draped in white and green cloth and wreathed with garlands of marigolds, roses and white flowers. The figure on the right holds a staff and wears an orange and red garment with a crown-like headdress. A man in a white dhoti and white shirt bends forward at the lower left, holding a bell and a small brass vessel, apparently performing a ritual offering in front of the murtis. Flower garlands are draped across the foreground and a red curtain hangs behind the shrine.2006-09-30A photograph of an abhishekam ritual at a temple shrine. Two shaved-headed men pour water over a golden statue of a bare-chested standing sage, one in saffron-orange robes holding a silver pot and the other in white dhoti and shawl with maroon borders holding a silver vessel. The golden statue stands on a gold-trimmed basin, water streaming down. Behind them, a deity murti is draped in purple and teal cloth and adorned with marigold garlands, with a golden crown visible. Brass oil lamps stand on the stone platform and ornate grey stone pillars frame the shrine.2010-12-19Photo 11728704 +2 copiesA temple ritual before a golden-framed shrine with a metal deity murti wearing a gold crown, garlands and jewelled necklaces, seated on a gold and maroon cloth. Two priests in white dhotis with gold borders and orange-red headpieces stand on either side, one holding a brass plate of offerings toward the murti. A third man in an orange-saffron robe with a garland and a rudraksha-style necklace kneels at the left, hands folded in namaskar before a microphone stand. Red and white draped fabric, flower garlands and a small fire flame at the bottom edge frame the scene under a metal-roofed hall.2014-05-10May 10 20142014-05-10A gilded shrine canopy with carved golden pillars houses two seated deity murtis adorned with white and pink garlands, gold jewellery and orange-and-green silk.
