Many hands grip the beam overhead and along its length as they move a weighty object across a bare concrete floor. Several bystanders in white and in ordinary street clothing watch nearby, and a white cloth screen and a yellow hoist pulley stand at the left. The scene suggests a night ritual idol-shifting or moving of a sacred murti.2007-04-19Inside a bare concrete-block hall with exposed roof trusses and fluorescent lights, a group of men in white dhotis and orange shawls carries a long wooden pole with a cloth-wrapped load on their shoulders.
