A long buffet line of devotees being served a meal at a lavish event with white draped fabric walls and red lighting. In the foreground, a young man in white with a red-and-white beaded garland and glasses holds a steel tray with rice, curry and a flatbread, while a man in white with a light-coloured sash stands beside him. Behind the glass sneeze guard, a bearded man in an orange turban, orange cloth and beaded garlands stands serving, and a woman in an orange sari with gold border works near him. Several women in saffron and orange saris and white attire move along the line, and red-and-orange umbrellas are visible in the background. Steel serving trays of food line the counter.2016-12-08A crowded tented hall with white fabric walls and colourful umbrellas and paper lanterns overhead. In the foreground, a man with a long red-and-maroon turban and gold-trimmed ornamental necklace stands at a long clear acrylic serving counter filled with steel trays of yellow rice. Across the counter, a man in white kurta with a red bead mala serves food. Behind them, devotees in white, orange and saffron clothes crowd close, and a cameraman in white dhoti films the scene. In the foreground a bare-chested man with a long swept-back hair, an orange-red turban, a gold-and-bead necklace and gold armlets stands at a long clear serving counter of food trays filled with rice. Beside him a man in a white kurta wears a red rudraksha mala and serves from the counter, while a woman in an orange sari with a rudraksha mala and red bindi stands nearby. Other devotees in white and saffron dress crowd behind, and a camera operator films at the right. Volunteers in white head caps and aprons serve rice and curries from steel chafing trays along a long counter. In the foreground an elderly man with white hair and glasses, wearing a white shirt, holds a paper plate of food. Younger men in white shirts with name badges stand nearby, and more devotees line up behind the counter. The setting suggests a community food distribution (annadan) at a festival.2016-01-02December 06 20162016-12-06A photograph inside a large white tent with draped ceilings and hanging decorative lanterns and umbrellas in red, orange and yellow.
