A photograph of a pada puja during a house visit. A long-haired man in rust-orange and maroon silk sits on a cushioned seat, his bare right arm extended as he places a hand on the head of an elderly man in white who kneels before him. A woman in white with a floral garland kneels beside them, hands folded in anjali. Behind them a young saffron-robed attendant holds a plate with apples and a sweet, another attendant in white holds a rudraksha mala, and a saffron-robed attendant on the right holds a staff. The room has blue walls, a framed shelf on the left and a white-clothed group in the background.2014-06-22A photograph of a padapuja ceremony outdoors under a canopy. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing saffron-orange robes, a long rudraksha-style mala and ornate gold-toned adornment, sits on a red-cushioned throne-like seat with his feet being washed. Devotees in white and saffron/orange shawls kneel and bend near his feet, and a woman in a white sari with red border pours or offers items. Behind, shaven-headed sannyasis in saffron robes and white-clad devotees stand in a crowd, with a woman in white holding a child. The swami on the throne appears to be a person based on long hair, saffron robes and ornate adornments in a ceremonial seat.2013-12-26A devotee in a white dhoti with a purple shoulder strap kneels and bows his head to the feet of a seated figure in a red-brown silk garment with gold border, the feet resting on a red cloth on an orange mat. The seated figure sits in a red upholstered chair with an ornate gold carved leg. Behind them, several people in white and saffron clothing stand, and a photographer with a camera is visible at the top. The scene appears to be a padapuja, with the devotee performing reverence at the feet of a seated figure. The seated figure's face is not visible, so no identity is established from appearance.2013-12-26Outdoor padapuja ceremony in which a person seated on a red cushioned throne, wearing rust-red draped robes, a gold-and-beaded garland and white tilak, extends a hand in blessing over a devotee kneeling before the seat. Another devotee in white with an orange shawl bends forward, hands folded, while red flower petals lie near the feet. Behind them, women in red and maroon saris hold brass tridents and ritual items beside saffron-shawled men and a woman in white with folded hands. Red and yellow decorative cloth and palms frame the open-air setting. Seated figure appears to be a person, the throne-seated figure receiving padapuja.2013-12-26December 19 20032003-12-19December 26 20132013-12-26December 23 20162016-12-23January 07 20082008-01-07December 20 20112011-12-20Outdoors under a corrugated metal canopy with palm trees behind, a man in a rust-red and gold-bordered dhoti and shawl stands on a raised red-draped platform, smiling and placing his right hand on the bowed head of a devotee in a teal shirt who kneels with palms pressed together. The standing man wears a long ornate gold necklace and a white tilak on his forehead. Nearby, saffron-clad attendants and devotees in white shirts with red shawls and rudraksha malas stand watching. A small ornate kalasha-style decoration appears in the background.2013-12-26A photograph on a stage with a white sheet-draped platform. A seated man in a maroon and gold kurta with a beige turban and long swept-back hair sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne decorated with white and yellow flower garlands; he smiles while holding a rudraksha mala. Before him, a long-haired devotee in white kurta and dhoti kneels with hands joined, a rudraksha mala around the neck. To the left, a seated man in saffron robes with a gold chain and folded hands kneels, and another saffron-robed figure stands at the edge. The seated figure with long hair and turban matches the swamiji description cues of a crown-like turban, swept-back hair, ornate clothing and rudraksha mala, so this is a probable Swamiji in person receiving a devotee's respects. Multiple people are visible.2008-01-07January 07 20082008-01-07
