A photograph of a temple ritual in an open courtyard. A person with long dark swept-back hair, wearing a maroon garment with a gold border and multiple dark beaded rudraksha-style malas on the neck and arm, holds a silver spoon over a flame, performing an aarti or lamp offering. Behind him an attendant in an orange-saffron robe holds a gold tray with a silver lamp and bell. To the left, a figure in white dhoti stands nearby. In the foreground lower right, a white statue of a deity murti wears a red turban and a red shawl with garlands of flowers. He wears a rust-orange wrap with a gold waistband, a red-orange rudraksha mala, and gold bead garlands; he is smiling and looking down at the flame. Behind him, a blurred monk in orange-brown robes stands in a room with a plain pale wall. The long hair, ornate gold beads and orange clothing are cues consistent with Swamiji (probable), shown performing aarti as the presiding person.2013-05-12May 19 20132013-05-19A photograph of an outdoor ritual at dusk beside a carved stone temple pillar. Dark rudraksha malas hang around his neck and wrists. Smoke rises from the flame. Behind him, a man in white dhoti with a gold-edged cloth holds a metal tray of flower garlands, and a man in orange robes holds a gold-rimmed plate. A red-turbaned statue or murti with a garland sits in the lower foreground, and white and purple flower garlands appear at the right edge. The setting is an outdoor temple area with a tiled roof and terracotta-coloured wall, consistent with a puja. Swamiji (probable) is shown performing the arati, identifiable by long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas and maroon ceremonial clothing; he is the central figure in the photo.2011-12-15May 12 20132013-05-12A photograph of a person in a red-orange wrap and a rudraksha mala, holding a silver oil lamp with a lit flame in the right hand and a silver bell in the left, performing an aarti-style ritual.
