Photograph of a decorated festival procession float at night. A bearded man wearing an ornate gold crown and red-and-white flower garlands sits on a gold-trimmed throne holding a green microphone in his right hand. He wears an orange-brown robe with a saffron shawl. Behind him a shaven-headed attendant in orange robes and a rudraksha mala stands, with another attendant in white beside him. Canopies of white and pink jasmine garlands hang overhead, and gold and purple floral decorations frame the float. A trident-like ceremonial staff is visible at left. Appearance cues (crown, saffron clothing, garlands, rudraksha mala) are consistent with a probable Swamiji presence on a ceremonial float.2016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23 +1 copiesOctober 01 20162016-10-01A photograph of a figure seated on an ornate gold-and-silver throne-like palanquin beneath a canopy of white jasmine garlands, red roses and purple flowers. The central seated man wears a golden crown, a pink and white flower garland, and an orange-saffron garment, and holds a small red-and-green object in his raised hand. To the left, a priest in white dhoti with a bare shaved head holds a silver trishula trident, and a man with a rudraksha mala stands at the edge. On the right, a bearded attendant in a white dhoti with gold border and rudraksha mala holds a cloth. Behind the throne hang pink and red flower strands and green foliage. Scene suggests a ceremonial procession setting with decorated seating.2016-12-23A smiling man with a short dark beard and swept-back dark hair sits on a gold-ornate throne before a deep red curtain. He wears an orange-brown dhoti and a red tilak on his forehead, and is draped in heavy garlands of white jasmine, red roses, yellow marigolds and green leaves, with red apples and yellow fruit tied in. Lotus buds and a tiger-striped cloth lie in the foreground. The pale floral and fruit garlands are the dominant visual element.2016-10-10Photo 11709706 +1 copiesJune 08 20172017-06-08A festival procession on an ornate gold-carved palanquin under a canopy of white and purple flower garlands with red roses and gold-tipped drapes.
