A photograph of a ritual in a brick-walled hall with a striped multicoloured cloth floor. A seated man in a maroon-brown robe with a gold border and a white tripundra forehead mark sits on an ornate gold throne with a cobra-hood backrest and red cushions, eyes closed, with a white flower at his feet. Standing before him with his back partly turned is a man in an orange turban and orange wrap, holding up green leaves above the seated man's head as part of a blessing. Offerings in yellow and white cloth, a brass plate and a flower garland lie on the floor in front. The seated figure has long hair and a mala-style bead string on his wrist, and the scene reads as a formal initiation or puja.2018-01-13 +1 copiesPhotograph of a seated man in a red-maroon robe on an ornate gold throne with a carved cobra-hood backrest and red cushions, touching his forehead with his right hand. A shaved-headed attendant in orange cloth with white tripundra marks stands at left holding a silver bowl, another attendant in orange stands at right edge, and a third bare-armed attendant is at far left edge. The floor is covered with striped multicolored cloth; a yellow flower and white cloth-wrapped object sit in front, with flower petals and a broom nearby. Seated man appears to be a probable Swamiji by his long swept-back hair, red-maroon robe and ornate gold throne setting.2018-01-13January 13 20182018-01-13January 13 20182018-01-13April 11 20182018-04-11 +1 copiesDecember 02 20162016-12-02A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gold throne with a red velvet cushion, wearing a maroon-red and gold-bordered dhoti and shawl, a rudraksha mala with a long double strand around the neck, gold earrings and a red bindi. He holds a white-and-black handled ritual whisk topped with yellow marigold flowers and gestures with his other hand. Beside him, a bare-chested young man in orange cloth with a beaded armband kneels, and a person in a white dhoti and shawl stands behind. Swamiji (probable) appears in the central seated figure, whose long swept-back hair and rudraksha mala and maroon-gold clothing fit the page's account; the kneeling attendant and standing person are devotees or attendants.2016-01-02January 02 20162016-01-02Photograph of a ritual initiation inside a plain brick-walled hall. A seated man in a maroon-brown robe with a red-and-white tilak sits on an ornate gold throne with a carved cobra hood and red cushions, his bare feet resting on a mat. A standing attendant in an orange turban and orange dhoti, bare-backed and wearing a red shawl, faces him and touches the seated man's arm, while the seated man reaches toward him. Striped multicoloured cloth covers the floor, with white flowers scattered near the throne. In the foreground a yellow-bordered fire pit burns with flames, and nearby are a kalasha-style pot wrapped in cloth, a brass vessel, and a small offering vessel. A deity murti is not visible. The scene suggests a homa or initiation rite.2018-01-13June 05 20122012-06-05April 03 20172017-04-03A seated figure in a rust-red saffron robe and an ornate gold-and-bead necklace sits on a large gold throne with red cushions in a temple-like hall with gilded relief carvings. Long dark hair falls past his shoulders, and he extends one arm while a priest in white dhoti with gold border and orange shawl applies a sacred thread or cloth to his forehead. Another man in white shirt and white dhoti kneels nearby, and a woman in red sari with gold border sits to the right holding a small item. A brass trident and a tall brass lamp stand beside the throne, and a red curtain hangs behind. Probable Swamiji (probable), seated on the throne with long swept-back hair, rust-red robe, rudraksha-style bead necklace and gold pendant, receiving a ritual forehead application.2016-08-14
