A bare arm with rudraksha and beaded bracelets reaches in from the upper right to place a small pink and white flower offering on one lingam. Behind them, out of focus, bare-chested men in white dhotis with gold borders sit on red steps, performing a lingam abhishekam ritual.2017-08-07A photograph of a stepped ghat beside water, lined with many black stone Shivalingas set in rows on the steps. Several people in orange and saffron robes, including a shaven-headed monk in orange, stand among the lingas, along with women in white and blue saris and kurtas. Red and orange flags line the railing above, and a brass vessel sits at the lower right corner. The ritual appears to be an abhishekam at the lingas.2016-09-19Close view of several black stone Shivalingams on pedestals being ritually bathed with water in an outdoor abhishekam. Water streams from golden pouring vessels held by seated devotees. The central lingam has a small red-pink flower on top and an orange marigold on a neighbouring lingam. Devotees wear white, teal patterned and red-trimmed clothing, with bangles visible on a wrist. Only hands, arms, legs and lower bodies are visible, so the participants are partly cropped.2016-12-18May 26 20132013-05-26 +1 copiesA row of black stone Shivalingams on a red-bordered stone platform receive abhishekam, with brass pouring vessels held over them. A bare-armed devotee's hand reaches down to a lingam draped with an orange-red rudraksha mala, and a brass tray holds flowers and small oil lamps. On the left a bare-shouldered person in a rudraksha mala kneels, and on the right a figure in white robes holds a brass pot. The scene shows Rudra abhishekam at the rows of lingams. Visible people are partially shown, so the count is limited.2016-12-16A photograph of black stone Shiva lingams on circular yoni-pītha bases during abhishekam. A thin stream of water pours from a golden vessel onto the central lingam, splashing droplets into the air, with a few red flowers resting on the lingam tops. Blurred figures in the background wear colourful patterned clothing, including a red garment and a striped multicolour sleeve, and a small oil lamp flame is visible at the lower right.2016-12-17July 24 20172017-07-24
