August 03 20082008-08-03Foreground branches with broad green leaves, some tiny new shoots, in sharp focus while the background is blurred. Behind them, several people in orange and saffron robes stand in a row, many wearing rudraksha malas and white headbands, and a few in red garments. Faces are soft and out of focus. The scene looks like a gathering outdoors among trees, with pale sky visible through the foliage.2013-06-30Outdoor gathering seated on the ground beneath trees and green leaves. In the centre, a man with long dark hair, a red bindi and an orange saffron cloth draped over his body sits closely, with a rudraksha mala visible at his neck; his appearance matches the page's reference to a person. Around him, devotees in white kurtas and orange shawls sit and some join their palms in namaskar; women in white saris with gold borders and orange shawls, one wearing a bindi, sit nearby. The scene is a satsang or darshan in a wooded ashram setting.2008-08-03August 03 20082008-08-03August 03 20082008-08-03Outdoor photo under a large spreading tree with dense green leaves at an ashram site with sandy ground. Several men and youths walk along a path, mostly in white dhotis and white kurtas with saffron/orange shawls draped over their shoulders; one prominent man in the centre wears a white kurta with a white scarf and carries a long bamboo staff. Others carry slender bamboo poles or staves. A young person at left wears an orange garment and holds a bamboo pole. In the background a red-cloth-covered structure is visible. Some people appear in the distance under the branches. No individual is distinctively identifiable as a person from appearance cues in this frame.2006-08-17August 05 20092009-08-05A large crowd walks along a shaded forest path among green trees and leafy bushes. Many people wear white clothes with orange shawls or scarves draped over their shoulders. Some devotees hold their hands together in prayer, and a man in the foreground wears an orange scarf and white shirt. A few people stand farther back, and the group appears to be on a pilgrimage walk or procession through the woods.2008-08-03Outdoor photo of a long-haired man in saffron-orange sleeveless robes with gold-bordered edges, seated on a rock with eyes lowered and hands resting in his lap, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a red tilak on his forehead. Around him, men and a young man wear white kurtas and orange shawls, sitting on rocks among green trees, with a woman in glasses and orange shawl at the right edge. A dark-haired onlooker is partly visible at the lower left. The seated man has long swept-back hair, saffron robes and a rudraksha mala, which are the appearance cues for a probable Swamiji candidate. Visible people: about six.2008-08-03August 02 20082008-08-02A photograph of a dirt path winding through lush green tropical vegetation, with broad-leaved plants in the foreground and coconut palms behind. Three men walk along the path away from the camera: a man in front wears a long orange saffron robe with his long dark hair loose, and two men behind wear white clothes with orange shawls draped over their shoulders. The path is lined with tall grass and trees.2006-10-07A photograph of a group walking in single file along a dirt path through dry scrubland with green bushes and thorny plants. In the foreground a young man with short dark hair and a red bindi wears a loose saffron-orange cloth draped over his shoulders and a red undershirt, his eyes lowered in a calm, meditative expression. Behind him a man in a white kurta and white dhoti with a saffron-orange shawl walks in step, and a woman in white and gold-bordered sari with a long-sleeved white blouse follows, along with other people in white and cream clothing further back. The procession suggests a walking circumambulation of the sacred Arunachala hill, with participants moving quietly and attentively.2009-08-05
