Two men in orange saffron robes kneel at the edge of a fast-flowing river, bending over and submerging a gold-coloured metal shrine in the water. The nearer man holds a gold shrikhanda-style sacred object with tiered pyramid steps and a rudraksha-like bead bracelet on his wrist, while the second man behind him reaches into the current beside a gold trident-shaped item. The water is churning and pale, and a stone step edge is visible at the upper left.

A photograph of a riverside or pool ritual on a metal walkway. A golden arch frames a small bronze figure on a stone pedestal. A young man with long dreadlocks in an orange cloth pours water from a brass vessel onto the figure, while other men in orange dhotis and sacred ash stand nearby. Metal buckets sit in front, and a second person in an orange wrap and red headwear is visible at right. Railings, red flags and water lie in the background.

Several men in orange and saffron clothing kneel in flowing river water beside a carved wooden ledge, bathing and tending a gilded metal vessel shaped like a stacked conical kalasha. One man in an orange shirt and orange dhoti leans in with bare arms submerged, another holds the golden kalasha steady at the water's edge, and a brass bell hangs from the carved wood. The scene appears to be a riverside ritual ablution with offerings; no a person candidate is clearly identifiable in the frame.

Devotees stand waist-deep in water at the stone steps of a sacred tank, holding brass vessels and small shrine-shaped kalasha-style objects with orange cloth. From left, a man in white robes holds a golden tower-like vessel, a bald man in white with a rudraksha mala stands behind a tiered brass shrine, a woman in a white sari with a gold border holds a brass plate, a man with long dark hair in a white kurta and yellow shawl holds a small vessel, and a woman in white with an orange-wrapped brass figure stands at right. Others sit on the steps in white and orange clothing. This is a holy dip ritual in the water.

A young man in orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with white sacred ash markings on his bare chest and arms, pours water from a golden kalasha over a bronze statue of a standing figure in a wooden-brown finish, set beneath an ornate gilded arch at a stepped ghat-like platform. A second man, bare-chested with rudraksha mala beads and an orange cloth, stands beside him holding a brass vessel. Metal pots sit in front, a few jasmine-like flowers lie on the wet platform, and red-brick steps and orange flags are visible behind. This appears to be an abhishekam ritual.

A temple abhishekam in progress at night. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes with a gold bead necklace and a red tilak on his forehead pours liquid from a white vessel over a white marble statue of a seated figure with a raised hand, while a bearded attendant in orange holds a silver tray. To the left, an orange-robed priest with glasses holds a brass lamp with a flame and a bell. A third orange-robed devotee stands with palms joined on the right, and a woman in a red shawl watches from behind. Flower petals lie on the wet floor, and a dark stone basin holding offerings sits at the right edge. A short-haired man with a red tilak ...

A photograph of a riverside ritual at Gangotri on the banks of a rocky river. A man with long dark hair, wearing orange saffron robes and a long beaded mala with a gold-toned pendant, stands beside a gilded, ornate shrine arch holding golden deity murtis in orange garments. He holds a small ritual object over metal bowls and brass vessels on a stone platform. Behind him, a crowd of devotees in orange robes sits and stands under a blue corrugated roof, with trees and hillside buildings visible. A trident leans against a blue post at right.
