Several white-clad devotees carry brass and silver vessels topped with mango leaves and yellow flower garlands, and some hold lit oil lamps in netted holders. Orange-red flags rise on tall poles at left. Two ornate multicoloured umbrellas with tassels are held aloft over the procession. A central figure wears a white turban with a white feathered ornament, a garland of white and red flowers, a long orange shawl and a rudraksha mala, and is being honoured by a kneeling man in white. Others in white kurtas and rudraksha malas stand around, with a crowd in the background and tents and trees beyond.2005-01-01
