Night procession scene with a deity murti seated on a golden peacock-shaped vahana under a large multicoloured canopy with tasselled fringes in red, yellow, green, purple and blue. Peacock feathers rise behind the murti, which is heavily adorned with garlands of white and yellow flowers and a red cloth. A priest in a white dhoti with a red border stands at left, leaning in to perform an offering with a lamp or kalasha at the palanquin. Ceremonial golden staffs and standards frame the right side, and a crowd of devotees in white and pastel clothing watches from below in the darkness.2010-11-11 +1 copiesNovember 11 20102010-11-11Night photograph of a festival procession. A man in white ceremonial dhoti and shawl with a maroon border holds a long pole with an orange tassel up toward a deity murti. The murti sits on a golden peacock vehicle draped in colourful garlands of white and yellow flowers, with peacock feathers rising behind it. A large golden umbrella with multicoloured fringe shelters the deity. A golden decorated standard with an animal motif appears at the right edge. The person's role appears to be attendant or priest carrying the umbrella pole in a procession, and the dark sky and background indicate evening.2010-11-11November 24 20152015-11-24November 11 20102010-11-11Night procession photograph of a man in white dhoti with a maroon border, bare-chested with a gold-coloured necklace, raising a long staff with an orange tassel toward an ornate deity murti on a festival vehicle.
