A long row of seated monks in saffron-orange dhotis and bare upper bodies eats from banana leaves laid on a striped red and green mat under a white tent. Many wear rudraksha malas, sandalwood or vibhuti markings on their foreheads and chests, and several wear bangles. Each leaf holds rice and vegetable dishes, with white paper cups set beside them. Brightly coloured parasols line the back, and other figures in white and orange stand behind the row. The scene reflects a food offering to sannyasis during a ritual.

A large outdoor tent filled with seated saints and devotees at a communal meal, sitting in long rows on a dirt floor under orange and yellow canopy poles. Most wear saffron and orange robes, with some in white, pink and red garments. Many hold steel plates of food, rice, dal and chapati, with glasses of water set before them. In the foreground a bearded man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala eats from a plate beside a man in a plain orange shirt. A bearded elder in orange with a yellow turban sits nearby, and a small group of sadhus in saffron with long grey hair and beards fills the right side. The scene suggests a bhandara feast for ascetics.

A photograph of a seated meal service in a red and white tented pavilion decorated with orange marigold garlands. Along a long row of low gold-patterned tables, monks and sannyasis in saffron and orange robes sit cross-legged before silver thali plates and steel tumblers. In the foreground on the left, women in yellow and pink saris carry trays and serve water and food. Several shaved-headed men in orange clothing sit in the right foreground, one wearing an orange turban. No person in the scene is clearly identified as a person from appearance, so the seated figures are described by role only.

A large outdoor tent pavilion with white canopy and orange-striped draping and orange pillars hosts a bhandara meal. Many seated men and women in orange and saffron robes sit on the ground in long rows, with white plates and small cups set before them. In the foreground a bald man in orange robes and rudraksha mala leans forward, and a woman in orange sari with gold necklace sits with eyes lowered. A standing sadhu in red robes gestures near a pillar, and a pedestal fan stands among the rows. Some men in white dhoti with yellow borders wear marigold garlands.

Several sadhus in saffron and orange robes sit cross-legged on a long row of low wooden tables inside an orange tent, each with a steel thali of food, a steel tumbler and a water bottle. Many wear rudraksha malas and some have forehead markings. In the foreground at right, a bearded sadhu with long matted hair, a tilak, a saffron shawl over ornate orange clothing and layered rudraksha malas sits with hands in a meditative gesture. Beside him a bald man in orange robes covers his face with a cloth.

A photograph inside a large red tent at a Kumbh Mela feast, with a red carpet running down the centre and a long row of seated sadhus in saffron and orange robes on the right. Nearest the camera, a bearded man in a saffron-orange turban and robe sits at a white-draped table with a silver plate, a small red box and a book, holding a microphone. Beside him an older man in a pink-orange robe sits at the same table. Along the left, rows of seated monks in orange sit behind silver trays set on low tables, and a few people in pink and red robes walk along the carpet. A large carved bronze relief of a deity panel stands on the right wall, and a red canopy hangs above.
