A seated figure on an ornate gold throne (peetha) inside a shrine doorway, wearing a maroon-red turban with a jewelled ornament, a rust-red shawl over the body, a long garland of yellow-orange flowers, and a red-gold dhoti border. Above and around the throne hang brass lamps and bead strands under a gold canopy, with a gold kalasha-like finial. Tiger-stripe cushions line the throne. Kneeling at the threshold in the foreground are several devotees: a woman in white with red-and-gold border and a clay/ash mark on her arms holds a silver tray with offerings; an elderly man in white sits beside her; two women in white with a red shawl and a woman in red-maroon garments face the throne. Painted guardian figures in green and pink flank the doorway. Red carpet covers the floor. The seated figure has a distinctive long-haired, turbaned, saffron-clad appearance with a rudraksha-style garland, consistent with the Swamiji (probable) label, seated in darshan on the throne.2014-09-07A seated figure in a maroon-red robe and matching red-orange turban sits on an ornate gold throne within a dark slate-grey shrine niche framed by orange and yellow borders. He wears a white flower garland and a beaded rudraksha-style necklace, and raises one hand in blessing. Hanging brass oil lamps and bells hang beside strings of dark beads on the wall. Two attendants in orange and maroon kneel before the throne, one in a white dhoti with bare upper body performing a ritual, the other seated at left. The scene suggests a pada-puja (foot-worship) ceremony. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure wears a red-orange turban, rudraksha-style beaded necklace and maroon robe, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji at this event.2014-09-05Photograph inside a temple shrine with painted deity statues on either side and hanging brass bells above. A figure seated on an ornate gold throne with tiger-skin cushions wears a red-brown turban with a small emblem, a red-brown robe with a gold border, and a long green-and-brown beaded garland; he raises one hand in blessing and holds a trident-shaped staff. Below, a man in white clothes holds up a lit oil lamp, and a woman in an orange sari sits to the right with offerings. In the foreground, a row of lit oil lamps blurs past a seated devotee in orange-red robes. Red carpet covers the floor.2014-11-20April 09 20132013-04-09 +2 copiesA photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gold throne (peetha) with a carved gold backrest and lion-shaped armrests, set in a brightly painted pink, green and blue shrine hall. The seated person wears a deep red-maroon robe, a rudraksha mala and a bead necklace, with a red-and-gold tilak on the forehead, and raises one hand in a gesture of blessing. Below, in the foreground, a bald priest in orange clothing faces the throne from the left, while two other attendants in white and red garments perform the service. A multi-tiered brass aarti lamp with lit oil flames stands in front of the throne, with brass oil lamps on stands at both sides. Hanging brass lamps and metallic beads fill the upper area. Probable Swamiji cues: long dark swept-back hair, rudraksha mala, red-and-gold robe, seated on a gold throne.2013-04-06March 30 20132013-03-30September 07 20142014-09-07May 12 20172017-05-12May 16 20132013-05-16May 16 20132013-05-16A seated figure on an ornate gilded throne with a lion-head armrest and a carved golden canopy sits in a shrine-like doorway framed by orange and cream painted columns. He wears an orange-saffron robe, a long rudraksha mala and a multi-strand pearl necklace, with a white-and-red forehead marking, and raises one hand in blessing. Oil lamps in the foreground are being lifted by unseen hands, and two attendants in white and orange kneel near the base of the throne. Appearance-based cues including long swept-back hair, saffron robes, rudraksha mala and ceremonial pearls match the page's reference to Swamiji (probable), seated in a position of honour.2013-03-16
