Night photograph of a crowd gathered under a canopy of mango or leafy branches and strings of flower garlands in white and red, with a bright flash or light source overhead. Several men in shirts, one in a pink shirt on the left and others in red or orange cloth, press closely together, looking toward the centre. A small thatched or woven structure hung with marigold-style garlands stands at left, and a red-lit element appears at right. No clearly identifiable a person figure is visible from appearance alone, so the central presence is unsure.2014-07-01A dense night crowd of devotees dancing and celebrating under coloured lights, lit in magenta, pink and teal. Many men wear white shirts and white dhotis, some with red and rudraksha malas, and one man in a teal checked shirt and a yellow-green head cloth raises his arm. Women in white and pink saris stand at the left edge. Strings of coloured lights and a lit temple structure appear in the background. No individual can be identified as a person from the visible cues.2016-12-23A dense night crowd gathers around an illuminated ratha or palanquin procession at a temple event. Glowing oil lamps and string lights frame a raised deity murti draped in red and orange garlands, seated on a decorated platform. In the foreground a young man in a white t-shirt faces away, with women in saris and men in white kurtas pressing around. Several men in white clothing at left hold hands in añjali gesture. Dust and warm light fill the scene. No individual can be clearly identified as the teacher, so the depicted figure is a deity murti.2016-03-07A dense nighttime street crowd celebrating outdoors under strings of blue and green fairy lights and a large decorative umbrella at upper right. Women in colourful saris, including pink, yellow and orange, dance with raised hands and clapping, many smiling. Men in white shirts and dhotis stand among them, one wearing a rudraksha mala around his neck. A child is held up in the crowd. Purple and pink stage lighting washes the scene. The mood is festive and joyful.2016-12-23A nighttime outdoor festival crowd of men in white shirts and trousers, many with raised arms and dancing or swaying, gathers in a dusty ground lit by green-tinted floodlights. In the background a brightly lit illuminated chariot or ratha with a trident-shaped staff and an ornate platform stands among strings of multicoloured fairy lights and lit decorative arches. Several men wear rudraksha malas or cords around their necks. No individual in the foreground can be identified as a person from the visible cues, so the figure is treated as a participant.2015-02-19A dim, crowded covered passage at night, with a blurred crowd moving through it. In the centre, a bald older man in a white kurta wears an orange shawl over one shoulder and holds a ceremonial item near his chest; men in white shirts and a red checked shirt surround him. Green leafy garlands hang along the rafters, and an overhead spotlight lights the scene. A young man in a purple shirt stands in the foreground.2014-06-29December 04 2006 - Karthikai Deepam, Tiruvannamalai2006-12-04March 07 20162016-03-07November 09 20112011-11-09A night-time outdoor crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis gathers on an open ground lit by floodlights. Strings of multicoloured lights and bunting stretch across the background, and at right an illuminated decorated structure with a lit platform holds several figures, possibly deity murti.
