A photo taken from above of a floor laid with a row of stainless steel serving vessels filled with South Indian foods, including idli, sambar, coconut chutney, pongal-style rice, vegetable curries and fried snacks, on a striped cloth and orange-tinted floor. Behind them a seated woman in a yellow and orange sari with a teal blouse sits on a mat, and a person in white clothing sits at the top edge. Marigold petals and a plate of bananas appear at the top left. The scene suggests a communal offering or annadan meal.

Overhead photo of a floor spread of steel vessels filled with prepared dishes laid out on a peach-coloured cloth and a striped mat. Visible dishes include white idlis, a yellow vegetable preparation, dal or sambar, a green curry, coconut or rice preparations, fried snacks and papad. Partially visible at top are seated people in white clothing and a woman in a green and gold sari, with a plate of flowers and fruit nearby. Steel lids rest in front. No one is clearly identifiable as a person, and this is a food offering rather than a clear ritual act.

Seated people in the background wear white and teal-green clothing, one with a garland of white and orange flowers and gold bangles. A red-and-green woven mat lies at left.

The dishes include white rice, a golden-brown grain preparation, a creamy white dish garnished with red flakes, fried golden balls or sweets, and a spiced yellow-brown mixture. Two stainless steel vessels stand behind, with brass plates, a small brass lamp and a tall brass vessel at the top right. Part of a white-robed person's arm is visible at the top right corner, and seated people in red-and-gold garments appear at the left edge, partly cropped. The stone-edged platform at right holds a stick of ash and a small cup.

Overhead photo of a food offering spread on a polished marble floor. Steel bowls hold plain white rice, several dal and curry dishes in orange and brown tones, a green vegetable preparation, a small bowl of fried snacks, and a bowl of papadums. A silver jug and a stainless steel lidded container sit nearby, with a green banana leaf and an orange cloth at the top edge. No people are visible.

A photograph of a food serving table set up outdoors on a dirt ground for a community meal.
