A homa fire pit heaped with dry wooden sticks, straw and split logs, with white smoke rising across the frame. A small yellow-faced murti or figure with painted eyes and a red mouth sits among the wood, and a red cloth bundle wrapped in red roses lies beside it. No people are visible in the frame.

Outdoor bhumi puja at a groundbreaking site beside a pink multi-storey building. A bearded man in a saffron-orange robe with a floral garland, holding a small pot, stands at the centre behind a row of red bricks laid on bare earth. Around him, priests in white dhotis and orange cloth perform rituals; one bare-chested priest pours from a vessel, and another holds a palm-leaf-style book. A multicoloured parasol shades the scene, and rangoli kolam designs in red, yellow and green decorate the ground. Potted vessels and offerings sit near the pit. Several devotees stand along the path in the background.

Rows of red clay bricks laid out on bare, sandy ground, each brick stack topped with a bundle of dried wooden sticks and twigs tied together with twine. Some bundles are bound with fibrous cord and some are loose. No people are visible; the scene is an outdoor arrangement of brick platforms with kindling bundles, set on dry earth with scattered twigs.

A photograph of a young man in a dark navy shirt and dark trousers bending over a sandy ground, sprinkling yellow powder from a small bowl onto rows of red clay bricks arranged in square and rectangular enclosures. The bricks are dusted with yellow turmeric-like powder, and dry brown material fills the centre of one enclosure. Another person in dark trousers stands barefoot in the background among more brick frames. No clearly identifiable a person is visible.

A photograph of a ceremonial ground-breaking at a temple-style site. A person in an orange saffron cloth and orange turban kneels on a sand-covered floor, placing yellow bricks around a mound of earth, wearing a long garland of white, yellow and red flowers with rudraksha beads. Behind him, figures in white dhotis and a brass pot stand near a small offering with a lamp and fruit. The ground is decorated with colourful floral kolam designs. Several people in white and dark clothing watch from the edges.

Close outdoor photograph of a sand lingam sculpture on a pale sandy ground, its rounded shiva lingam shaped form dusted heavily with bright yellow turmeric powder and red kumkum at its base and along the surrounding yoni-like platform. Sprinkled coloured powder covers the sand. In the upper right corner, a brass plate holds bananas and other fruit offerings. No people are visible. The scene suggests a ritual lingam offering or puja, with no identifiable individuals present.

A square fire pit of red brick, whitewashed on its rim, holds a burning fire of sticks and logs with bright orange flames rising. Orange marigold flowers and petals are scattered over the white rim, and a yellow fruit with green mango leaves sits in the foreground. At the top left, a person in orange robes sits beside brass vessels, a bowl and a wooden ladle. Thin bundled sticks are laid across the stones, and a white cloth canopy stands behind.
