Three men in the foreground wear rudraksha malas, sandalwood-paste tilak on their foreheads and arms, and orange or red shawls over bare upper bodies. The man in the centre sits with palms pressed together in namaskar, while the man at left and the man at right handle ritual items. A silver tray holds brass oil lamps, a small brass bell, a kalasha-style vessel, flower offerings and fruit. Young boys in orange robes sit behind them, and a figure in white sits at the far left edge. Behind them, other devotees in white dhotis sit cross-legged. Pink flowers, a brass lamp and a small oil lamp are arranged on the floor. Framed pictures hang on the pale wall behind them.2017-01-07A photograph of several shaved-headed men in saffron and orange robes seated closely together during a ritual session. Each wears a rudraksha mala and white horizontal tilaka marks on the forehead and upper arms. The man at left holds a lit oil lamp in one hand and a small brass vessel sits near the front. Another seated man in orange robes sits centrally with hands folded. Behind them a standing and seated audience in white and grey clothing is partially visible. No one is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance, so the seated monastic participants are described by role only.2013-04-14June 01 20142014-06-01
