Stage lights on a tall frame illuminate the scene, and a decorated float or chariot with colourful fabric sits at the left edge. Rows of white and grey plastic chairs fill an open ground, with men in white shirts, a woman in a patterned sari, and children visible in the foreground. On the stage a red-and-gold banner with Tamil lettering hangs behind a small figure seated at a microphone; this figure's appearance is too uncertain to identify, so the person is described only by role as a speaker. Strings of bulbs and a tent-like canopy frame the scene.2012-04-06
