Outdoor street procession on a tree-lined village road in daylight. A group of women in teal-green saris walks in a line on the left, many with hands pressed together. On the right, several men in white dhotis and shirts carry saffron-orange flags on poles, and a figure in white robes with a white head covering walks among them. Bystanders in white shirts and dhotis stand along the roadside near small shops with yellow and green banners and a large tree overhead.

A street procession in a small Tamil town. In the foreground, a large group of young women in green saris with white blouses stand close together, many with hands pressed in anjali, some with a small child held by a woman in the middle. Behind them, men and boys in white shirts and dhotis stand along the roadside, and a few hold orange-saffron flags on poles. A bearded older man in white and a man in a turban are visible at left. Shopfronts with painted signs and a vehicle appear in the background. Visible Tamil signage and posters line the street. The scene suggests a devotional gathering or procession.

A street procession on a dusty village road in Tamil Nadu. In the foreground, many women in matching teal-green saris and white blouses stand close together with hands pressed in namaste, several with eyes lowered. Behind them, men and women in white shirts, white dhotis and sarongs carry orange saffron flags with a blue emblem on poles. A woman in an orange sari and an older man in white hold flags; a woman carries a baby in white. Thatched huts, a white temple-like building with a small shrine, and a truck with an orange banner stand in the background. No clearly identifiable a person figure is visible, so no one is labelled as him.

A street procession moves along a paved road lined with parked motorcycles and scooters. Many men and women walk in plain white or cream clothes, several women in cream and beige saris and men in white shirts and dhotis. Some carry long red flags on poles, and a few hold rolled white banners. Several participants wear white rudraksha-style neck beads and round white badges pinned to their clothing. A small roadside hoarding in the upper right shows a painted face. Onlookers stand along the roadside, and a man in a blue cap appears near the front right.

A street scene along a tree-lined road with a paved sidewalk edged in yellow and black kerb. Many people stand and walk along the pavement: women in saris and salwar kameez, children, and men in white dhotis and shirts. A bald man in a white dhoti and shawl walks in the foreground, and a woman in a green sari sits by the kerb. Behind them are temporary stalls with coloured bunting and a few police officers in khaki uniforms near the roadside. Motorbikes pass on the road, and a building and utility pole stand among the trees.

Photograph taken from inside a dark car along a paved rural road lined with gravel and trees, with the car's side mirror in the foreground. A long line of young women and girls stands on the roadside, many in white kurtas with orange or saffron shawls, others in yellow, pink, blue and green salwar-style dresses, some with hands folded in greeting.
