In the foreground, rows of brass lamps and small dishes are decorated with pink petals, and beside them are fruits including pineapple, bananas, apples and pomegranates, with a bundle of dried twigs. At centre stands a square yellow-brick structure with a central opening, surrounded by white flower garlands, marigold garlands hang along the table's front, and a brass vessel and kalasha-like items sit at the right. Behind, an orange-draped seat or peetha is placed on the blue-carpeted floor. In the background, several people sit on the floor in saffron, white and coloured saris and garments, some with a microphone stand nearby, while a blurred figure in white walks past at the right edge.2010-02-12March 15 20172017-03-15Outdoor homa setup on bare ground: a square fire pit built of red bricks filled with sand, with a carved wooden seat or peetha behind it with concentric circular carving. On striped woven mats at left sit brass vessels, a brass kalasha-like pot, bowls of fruit, small oranges, dried sticks or samidha, and a brass tray with small cups. A pile of orange cloth and a copper-coloured bowl rest on the right mat. In the background, people in white and light clothing sit on the ground, and a poster or banner is partly visible on a concrete wall.2005-07-21Outdoor ritual at a homa or yagna fire pit on a woven mat before a decorated altar with marigold garlands and a deity murti under a canopy. Several saffron-robed priests sit around the fire; one priest in orange holds a ladle over the flames. A man in white kurta with a flower garland kneels across the fire pit, gesturing with his hands over the offerings. Plates of fruit including oranges, bananas, pineapple and apples, bowls of grains, flower petals, stacks of white boxes and bundles of sticks surround the fire. Seated devotees in saffron and orange saris and shawls watch from behind, with a standing fan at left and a pink curtain at right.2008-12-26 +1 copiesMarch 15 20172017-03-15March 15 20172017-03-15A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bordered wrap and a red tilak on the forehead sits with eyes closed and hands folded in front of a fire pit built of white bricks with stacked firewood. Flower-decorated offerings cover a teal cloth: trays of pomegranates and apples, pineapples, oranges, grapes, sweets in white boxes, a brass bowl, a kalasha-style silver vessel, oil lamps and red kumkum. Behind, a man in white and another in orange-and-white clothes move about near a wall with a fan and a speaker. A poster-style banner with a floral motif hangs on the left. The figure has long dark hair and a flower in it, and the page identifies this as a Swamiji-conducted marriage ceremony, so the robed figure is an appearance-based probable Swamiji with saffron robes and long hair as cues.2007-02-15A homa fire pit built from red brick, decorated with white and orange powder and marigold petals, with smoke rising from burning wood. In the foreground a shaved-headed person in the blurred left corner watches the rite. Behind the pit a priest in a yellow dhoti and cloth stirs the fire with a long metal ladle into a silver bowl. A brass kalasha and oil lamp sit nearby on a metal tray with folded white cloths, on a red-tiled floor. Visible people are only partially shown, and no one is clearly identifiable as a person.2015-07-18December 26 20072007-12-26February 20 20162016-02-20 +1 copies
