ADIKAILASA on 1/5/20222022-01-05Photograph of a deepaaradhana ritual before a deity murti, a white Shiva lingam-form adorned with a painted face, red lips and a red-and-white tilak. A tiered multi-lamp copper aarti vessel with burning oil lamps is held by a hand at the left edge, by a person in orange robes. The murti is draped in white jasmine garlands and pink flower strands, with green leaves, yellow and orange marigold-type flowers, fruits and a small red fruit at its base. Golden carved arches and a gilded makara-style ornament frame the scene. Printed caption reads 'Moolavar Nithyanandeshwara Deeparadhana' and 'Nithyanandotsavam 2021, DAY 18'.2022-01-05Close view of a Shiva lingam decorated with white jasmine garlands, green leaves and pink flower strands, with fruits and a red-striped brinjal-like vegetable at its base. A bare arm wearing a rudraksha bracelet and a silver bangle holds a round metal tray bearing a small brass deepa oil lamp with a flame, performing a deepaaradhana offering. Pink and orange flower heaps and gold-carved temple pillars frame the scene; the lingam shows white sandalwood-paste markings. The person holding the tray is not shown in full, so no face or role beyond the offering is visible.2022-01-05A photo of a tiered silver oil lamp with many lit wicks being held up in a temple setting. A hand holding the stand is visible at the bottom right. Behind it sits a copper-coloured crown or mukut studded with red stones, resting on flower garlands of white, orange and yellow. A green cloth and an ornately carved gold-toned arch frame the scene. No physical people are clearly visible beyond the partial hand, and no a person candidate is identifiable in the frame.2018-04-27 +1 copiesDecember 22 20162016-12-22A photograph of a ritual deeparadhana at a shivalinga covered in white flowers and green leaves, with pink and yellow garlands draped around it. A hand in the left foreground, wearing a beaded bracelet and metal bangles, holds a silver tray bearing a brass oil lamp with a lit flame. Ripe red fruits and marigold-like blooms lie at the base, and a gold-toned panel with carved detailing is behind the altar. A visible arm and hand are the only human body parts shown, so no full person is seen. Behind him, two gilded deity murtis wear blue and red garments and garlands, and a shiva-linga-like form in front is decorated with pink and white flower garlands and fruit. A gold-painted statue of a bearded figure with a turban and white flower garland stands at right, palms together.
